Biography
Ryan began his studies at the College of Marin and then earned his B.S. in chemistry from the University of California, Davis in 2007. Under the inspired guidance of Prof. Philip Garner, Ryan’s graduate research included the development of several new methods in organic chemistry ranging from catalysis to peptide synthesis. Based on this research, Ryan earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from Washington State University in 2015, and currently teaches chemistry at North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene Idaho.
Ryan has two dogs (Abbey and Bailey) and lives in beautiful Coeur d'Alene with his fiance Nicole. On campus, Ryan teaches Essentials of Chemistry (CHEM 101), Organic Chemistry I and II (277/287), and Carbon compounds (CHEM 275) in addition to several exciting laboratory courses in chemistry. He is also the faculty advisor to the NIC chemistry club, and he enjoys introducing students to the world of chemistry and scientific inquiry.
