Pennington, from Coeur d’Alene, won a home appraised at $310,000 at the NIC
Foundation’s Really BIG Raffle 25th anniversary drawing Wednesday.
The winning ticket for the Greenstone Homes’ neighborhood house was drawn in
front of a crowd of about 2,000 behind the Edminster Student Union Building. For
the first time in recent memory, the house winners were on hand to receive the
good news in person.
“I called into work and joked that I’d be a little late because I had to win a house,” said Anjelique, who works as a certified nursing assistant at Hospice of North Idaho. “Turns out I wasn’t joking.”
Cash and prizes totaling $350,000 were given away at the annual event, including the house, which was built by NIC Carpentry and Construction Technology students.
“For 25 years our community has supported this wonderful event with the proceeds directly benefiting NIC students through scholarships and program assistance,” said NIC Foundation Executive Director Rayelle Anderson. “Not only is it for a good cause, it’s always a lot of fun.”
Winners of the first, second, third and fourth place prizes can apply the cash value to the prize of their choice, and did not need to be present to win.
