NIC to host regional playwrights, directors April 26

Return to newsroom

North Idaho College is hosting “Playwriting in the Inland Northwest: a panel discussion of regional playwrights and directors” Friday, April 26 from noon to 1 p.m. in Seiter Hall Room 102 on NIC’s main campus.

The event is part of the Get Lit! Festival hosted by Eastern Washington University each year. It will be moderated by poet/playwright Jonathan Johnson, whose play “Ode” premiered at Get Lit! in 2013.

Join these four acclaimed playwrights and directors to discuss their experiences plying their craft in the region.

Susan Hardie has performed in and directed scores of productions throughout Spokane and the region for nearly 40 years and, with Bryan Harnetiaux, has earned a City of Spokane Arts Award.

Bryan Harnetiaux has been a Playwright-in-Residence at Spokane Civic Theatre in Spokane since 1982.

Sandra Hosking is a playwright based in Spokane. Her plays have been performed in New York City, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Canada, New Zealand and elsewhere.

Kathleen Jeffs is chair of the Theatre and Dance Department at Gonzaga University. Her theatrical translations have been performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and elsewhere.

More information on the Get Lit! Festival can be found at https://inside.ewu.edu/getlit/.
