North Idaho College’s Radiography Technology program celebrated seven graduates during a pinning ceremony May 3 at NIC’s campus in Coeur d’Alene.

NIC students Violet Gradin, Annabelle Lynn, Christina Clum, Kristin Verkist, Taryn Johnson, Lewis Whiting and Tylie Chase each received an NIC Radiography Technology program pin to celebrate the successful completion of NIC’s program.

Matthew Nolan, director of NIC’s Radiography Technology program, said the graduates forged a special bond throughout the course of earning their associate degrees of applied science.

“Every cohort I have taught has been unique,” Nolan said during the ceremony. “These students came into the program and over the last five semesters, they have become family, working and growing as one unit. This is one of the most important lessons they have learned while in the program. Working as a team, helping each other succeed and ensuring quality care for our patients is the heart of what we do in healthcare.

Nolan said the graduating class has been a fun class to work and grow with, and each graduate weathered challenges on their way to success.

“It is always rewarding to watch students come into the program eyes wide open, scared and unsure of what is going to happen next and exit the program as professional technologists,” Nolan said. “Each one of these graduates is extension of me, and I am proud to present them to you tonight!”

The Radiography Technology program is a competitive-entry program, and 10 students are accepted to the five-semester program every other year. The current application cycle is open until May 22, and the next cohort will begin in August.
