Two North Idaho College faculty members took home Career Technical Educators of Idaho (CTEI) Teacher of the Year awards for demonstrating innovation in the classroom, commitment to their students and dedication to the improvement of career and technical education.

Tacey Baskett took home the CTEI Region 1 New Postsecondary Teacher of the Year along with The Idaho Division of Career Technical Education 2023 Exemplary Program Award.

Baskett, the CTE Administrative Office Programs Program Manager, led multiple initiatives over the years to improve student access to her program including transitioning into fully online courses after finding it worked better for her students and their families.

Baskett taught high school business education courses for 17 years and is also a Dual Credit mentor to high school instructors in Idaho that offer NIC courses at their local high schools.

At the same event, NIC’s Mechanical Design and Engineering Technology Assistant Professor Alexander Woodmansee won the CTEI Region 1 Postsecondary New Teacher of the Year award.
