The Northern Idaho Crisis Center is a non-profit community organization, created to help people who are having a mental health crisis or drug or alcohol problem. The Center is FREE, SAFE, PRIVATE, and VOLUNTARY. Care is provided to men and women ages 18+. The Crisis Center is open 24/7/365. You can stay at the center for up to 24 hours at a time. You do not need a referral. You can come on your own, with a friend or a family member.

In-Patient: The adult chemical dependency program is a 16-bed intensive inpatient program providing a medical model of rehabilitation. The 21-day program focuses on addiction, education, spirituality, relapse prevention skills, and family strengths to assist the client in continued recovery.

Intensive Outpatient: IOP services are available for adults. Group meetings are offered three nights weekly including relapse prevention, family issues, addiction education and 12-step work.

Outpatient: Outpatient services are offered free of charge. OP services are provided Tuesday evenings, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Kootenai Health, Health Resource Center located on the main hospital campus.

Heritage Health is a Federally Qualified Health Clinic (FQHC). Heritage Health Restored Paths provides chemical dependency evaluations, Adult Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient programming, individual, family and couple therapy, and more.

Marimn Health is a Federally Qualified Health Clinic (FQHC). Marimn Health offers a variety of Behavioral Health Services to include Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Services. In addition to outpatient substance abuse treatment, Marimn Health also provides alcohol and drug evaluations, and individual and group counseling for both adolescents and adults.

Kaniksu Health Services is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center delivering services to Bonner and Boundary counties in Idaho. Kaniksu Health Services provides behavioral health services.

 Port of Hope is a Non-Profit Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center that provides non-medical Intensive Residential Treatment, Intensive Outpatient Services, Individual and Group Counseling, and more.
Alcoholics Anonymous, (A.A.)
(North Idaho falls into “Washington State East, Area 92” geographic area of Alcoholics Anonymous). Follow the link above, select the “Meetings” tab, then select the city you are interested in and an alphabetical list of meeting days and times will generate.
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism through a twelve-step program. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. A.A. Newcomer Brochure.

Narcotics Anonymous offers recovery from the effects of addiction through a twelve-step program. The group atmosphere provides help from peers and offers an ongoing support network for addicts who wish to pursue and maintain a drug-free lifestyle. Membership is free. Read the NA publication “Am I an Addict?”
