Biography:

I am married and I have two children. My daughter (Rachel) is a coral biologist working for Dry Tortugas National Park and my son (Sam) is studying Aerospace Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

I grew up in Sheridan, Wyoming and attended the University of Wyoming where I met my husband. I transferred to the University of Arkansas where my husband and I attended school and helped care for my aging grandparents. After receiving my Masters in Communication, we moved to Coeur d' Alene and this has been our home ever since.

One of the most unique things I have done is live in China. As part of a ministry, my husband and I taught English at Wuhan University of Technology in Wuhan, Hubei China. Yes, you most likely know Wuhan for Covid 19. However, we lived there in 2002-2003 and we love the friends we made there. Our whole family went and it was one of the most remarkable experiences of our lives. We learned a lot.

With regards to hobbies...I love to sing, garden, play my viola, read, hike, camp, travel, work on our house, and be with people (especially my family.)

I honestly think I have the best job in the world and I am so grateful thatI have the opportunity to be a teacher at a community college. I have taught at the University of Arkansas, Gonzaga University, and Wuhan University of Technology and I must admit NIC is my favorite. Not many people are as blessed to find something they love doing and still feel this way after many years at NIC. I am attaching a picture of my husband and myself from this summer.
