Biography:

Michele Chmielewski taught in K-12 public schools for over 21 years mostly in northern Idaho. She has been heavily involved in multiple professional education associations including serving on the executive board of the Idaho Art Education Association for over nine years in four different positions. When she was on the board, she raised the bar in the state, gaining more members through moving professional development conferences around the state and adding spring conferences along with the main fall event. Ms. Chmielewski has also served on the National Art Education Association executive board as the Pacific Region Vice President. She was inspired to help leaders in the Pacific region advocate for arts education. Michele was also a 2020 recipient of the Governor’s Award in the Arts for Support of Arts Education.
