The NIC Business Management program is hosting an Ask the Business Leader Day event from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, March 13 at the Driftwood Bay Room of the Edminster Student Union Building at NIC’s Coeur d’Alene Campus.

The event is free and open to the public.

Ask the Business Leader Day is a facilitated discussion between local professionals and the audience. NIC Assistant Professor Dean Miles said that he’s held the event several times for his students but wanted to invite all NIC students and employees, as well as the public.

“My students always say it’s one of their favorite parts of the semester,” Miles said. “We just want to open that experience up to anybody who could gain some value from it.”

Discussion topics include startup planning and pitching, money and business, and planning for and surviving the growth phase. Several local business leaders will be in attendance from a variety of fields including IT consulting, beer brewing and distribution, fine arts, media and TV production, and more.

“This is a great opportunity to connect and engage with local business leaders,” Miles said. “It’s always fun to see what people take away from it.”
