Learn more about the color powder
This powder shouldn't stain clothing and can generally be washed out with water or in
a normal washing machine cycle. Still please prepare for this event by wearing
clothing you don't mind getting dirty and an old pair of running shoes.
While color powder used in a Color Fun Run is generally considered safe, inhaling
large quantities of it is not recommended and can cause discomfort, particularly for
individuals with respiratory issues like asthma; it's best to avoid inhaling the powder
by keeping your mouth closed during the event and potentially wearing a bandana or
mask to filter the air you breathe in.
All participants who check in will receive a t-shirt, sunglasses and a bandana that they
can use to cover their mouth and nose while going through the color powder.
Participants can wear workout-style clothing or anything comfortable for moving in
that you don’t mind getting color powder on. All participants who check in will
receive a white, NIC Color Fun Run T-shirt that you can wear during the event - it will
be completely covered in color powder by the end!
Yes, this event is open to participants of all ages. However parents and caregivers
should be considerate of the color powder that will be thrown in the air and at
participants.
For those who want to participate but don’t want to get covered in color powder, it is
recommended that they start the race near the back of the crowd and avoid the color
throwing stations as best they can while on the course. Reminder, the color powder is
made of cornstarch and natural coloring that can easily be washed out.
