Everyone is invited to North Idaho College’s “Choral Kaleidoscope Concert” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, in the Boswell Hall Schuler Performing Arts Center.
“Choral Kaleidoscopes Concert” will feature the NIC Cardinal Chorale and the NIC Chamber Singers with NIC Director of Choirs Max Mendez conducting.
Highlights for the program will include music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Felix Mendelssohn, Aaron Copland, Eric Whitacre and more.
The NIC Cardinal Chorale will perform selections from Aaron Copland’s Old American Songs including, “Simple Gifts” and “I Bought Me a Cat.” Copland is well-known for using classic American melodies in his music.
The Chorale will also sing four of Mozart’s Nocturnes and Mendelssohn’s “Verleih’ uns Frieden.”
The Chamber Singers will perform Eric Whitacre’s Animal Crackers, vol. 1 and 2. These charming pieces are settings of Ogden Nash poems highlighting the humor and beauty of the animal kingdom.
The concert is free and open to the public.
