Venerable Thubten Chodron, an American nun in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, will present “Finding Common Ground: Survival of the Most Cooperative” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29. This virtual event will be presented via Zoom at https://nic.zoom.us/j/97529166244.
In this time of pandemic and social and economic upheaval, we see more than ever how crucial it is for individuals, communities and societies to work together in harmony. Join Ven. Chodron as she shares how generating peace, love and compassion in our own hearts can help us to heal divisions between ourselves and others and find common ground to build a better future.
Ven. Chodron, a noted international author and teacher, is the abbess of Sravasti Abbey in Newport, Wash. She has published many books on Buddhist philosophy and meditation, and is currently co-authoring with His Holiness the Dalai Lama a multi-volume series of teachings on the Buddhist path, “The Library of Wisdom and Compassion.” Many of her teachings are available on her website: www.thubtenchodron.org.
Members of the public are invited to join, and the event is free, but donations for the abbey are welcome. Details for giving can be found at https://sravastiabbey.org/donation/.
