Two students in North Idaho College’s Autobody and Paint Technology program took home top-three awards in competitions during the 2023 SkillsUSA Idaho State Leadership and Skills Conference April 7 in Nampa.
Peter Rice of Post Falls won the gold medal in Collision Damage Appraisal and Elijah Nixon of Post Falls took home the silver medal in Collision Repair.
“Idaho has solid collision repair programs throughout the state,” NIC Autobody and Paint Technology Associate Professor Calvin DeHaas said. “Our students compete consistently at a high-level year in and year out. Loved watching my team navigate their nerves and competing to the best of their abilities.”
The victory qualified Rice for the June 19 National SkillsUSA competition in Atlanta, Ga.
