A Message From The President

North Idaho College expresses its sincere condolences following the tragic death of Charlie Kirk. We extend our sympathies to his loved ones and to those impacted by this horrific event. Violence must never be a part of our civic or political life.
We have been made aware of allegations against an instructor at NIC concerning a social media post. We are in the process of investigating those allegations. We want to assure our community that this matter is a priority and we are treating it with the utmost importance.
At North Idaho College, we remain committed to fostering an environment where ideas can be shared openly, safely, and respectfully—a cornerstone of both education and democracy. The First Amendment protects the right to speak, but it does not shield anyone from the consequences of how that speech impacts others.
Ensuring the physical and emotional safety of our campus community is a constant priority at NIC. Support is available for those navigating grief, anxiety, or related challenges.
Counseling services are available to all NIC students and employees. You can reach out at (208) 769-5947 or visit our Counseling Services page at nic.edu/counseling. If you are concerned about the well-being of someone in the NIC community, we ask that you submit a CARE report at nic.edu/care.
