The event, part of Eastern Washington University’s annual literary Get Lit! Festival, is free and open to the public.

Garcia will share pieces of her novel “All That Rises,” take questions from the audience and sign copies of her work.

Copies of “All that Rises” will be available for purchase at the event, courtesy of the Well-Read Moose.

García’s award-winning short fiction has appeared in Narrative Magazine, the phoebe literary journal and the anthology Puro Chicanx Writers of the 21st Century. She is a past recipient of a fellowship from the Rona Jaffe Foundation.

Originally from El Paso, Garcia currently lives in Seattle, where she teaches fiction writing at Hugo House and works as a manuscript consultant.
