North Idaho College Outdoor Pursuits will offer a free avalanche safety presentation for the public on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. in the Outdoor Center of McLain Hall on the Coeur d’Alene campus.

Topics include the avalanche phenomenon, how to find forecast information and understand it and how to obtain further education. The presentation is in partnership with the Idaho Panhandle Avalanche Center.

“Understanding avalanches and forecasts isn’t just for backcountry experts — it’s essential knowledge for anyone who enjoys winter in the mountains,” said Terry Brinton, Outdoor Pursuits coordinator. “This presentation is a great way for the community to learn how to stay safe, make informed decisions and get the most out of their winter adventures.”
