The Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) appointed North Idaho College President Nick Swayne to its Advisory Committee of Presidents.

Committee members are responsible for advising ACCT leadership and ensuring that the perspectives of campus executives are reflected in recommending and evaluating educational programs. Swayne’s term will run through December 2027.

“I’m excited to represent NIC and our region at the national level,” Swayne said. “Community colleges play a vital role in building strong communities, resilient economies and opportunities for all. I look forward to contributing to national discussions that help shape the future of our part of the country.”

The Advisory Committee of Presidents is composed of five presidents from each of the ACCT’s five regions. ACCT, a nonprofit educational organization, represents more than 6,500 elected and appointed trustees governing more than 1,000 community, technical and junior colleges in the United States and beyond.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity. This appointment will provide a platform to elevate the priorities and challenges facing institutions like NIC on the national stage,” Swayne said.
