The North Idaho College Theatre Department will perform “Almost, Maine” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 17, 18, 19 and Oct. 24, 25, 26 at the Boswell Hall Schuler Performing Arts Center at NIC’s campus in Coeur d’Alene.

All performances are free and open to the public.

“Almost Maine” is a comedy written by John Cariani in which the people of the “almost” town of Almost, Maine, make discoveries about themselves that lead to love and sometimes heartbreak, in entertaining and unexpected ways.

“It’s a really beautiful performance,” NIC Director of Theatre Joe Jacoby said. “It veers from unabashed comedy to highly moving moments in a way that makes it really unique.”

The production is made up of nine 10 minute one act plays that occur simultaneously in different parts of the town while the northern lights hover in the night time sky. The cast consists of current and former NIC students.

“I think that audiences will be impressed with the quality of their work,” Jacoby said. “It’s going to be some special nights of theatre.”
