Test Proctoring

North Idaho College at Sandpoint offers secure, professionally proctored testing services for students of NIC and other Idaho public colleges and universities. Our goal is to provide a quiet, fair and reliable environment for exams so that students and faculty can focus on academic success. Placement, entrance and certification exams are also offered in Sandpoint. Please contact the office for specific information.

Please call the Sandpoint campus at (208) 263-4594 to schedule your test.  Appointment requests by email will not be honored. Appointments should be made at least 24 hours in advance.  Same day appointments may be available, but they are not guaranteed. Please note: only FINAL EXAMS will be given during Finals week.

  • Photo ID is required at check‑in for every test.
  • Test start times are scheduled on the half hour.
  • All testing must conclude by closing time.
  • Sandpoint staff must follow the instructor’s directions for procedures, dates and times. The instructor must contact the Sandpoint office directly to approve any change in testing procedure, date, or time.
  • The Sandpoint campus is not responsible for the availability of the test at the time of the appointment. The student and the instructor are responsible for having the exam and the instructions available at the Sandpoint campus.
  • Lockers are provided for all personal items, including but not limited to, cell phones, notebooks, bags, smart watches, etc.
  • No electronic devices (except for approved calculators) are allowed in the testing lab.
  • The Sandpoint campus will proctor exams for public Idaho colleges and universities only.
  • Email the test file or password with instructions to Sandpoint@nic.edu.
  • Please do not email individual staff members.
  • Include detailed instructions for all testers and clearly note any DSS accommodations.
  • Ensure all tests and instructions are kept in a secure place to protect the integrity of the tests.
  • Always ask for photo ID before the student is allowed to test.
  • Provide a secure and quiet environment for the students.
  • Monitor the testing lab via security cameras. Note: all testing sessions are recorded.
  • Follow the instructions as they are written by the instructor.
  • Confirm the appropriate calculator is being used and check for written material inside the lid.
  • Report all irregularities to the instructor.
