Week of Welcome (WoW) is all about you. Each year we offer a week of free events to celebrate the start of the new academic year! Come and join in on the fun, meet new people and start your future. Event locations can be found on our Campus Map.
Monday, August 19
Free Snow Cones / Student Government Meet and Greet
- 11 am to 1 pm
- Come stop by the Student Union Building on Monday to meet your Student Government and grab a FREE Snow cone! We will be just outside the main doors from 11am - 1pm. We hope to see you all there!
Cardinal Convocation*
- 4 pm to 7:30 pm
- CLC-120 registered students only.
Wednesday, August 21
Day of Welcome Resource Fair
- 11 am to 1 pm
- DAY OF WELCOME Resource Fair!!! Come by the Student Union Building from 11:00am to 1:00pm to see all the awesome resources NIC has to offer. In addition, we will have a FREE T-shirt and lunch for all who attend.
Glow Tag
- 8:45 pm to 11 pm
- Meet Outside the Student Union Building at 8:45 pm for a wild game of Glow Tag! Free to play, just grab your friends and your running shoes and enjoy a fun night of your favorite childhood game.
Thursday, August 22
Situational Awareness & Self Defense Training
- 11 am to 1 pm
- Moving away from home can be scary. Gain some confidence by attending our Situational Awareness & Self Defense Training. This event will take place on the second floor of the Student Union Building in the Lake Coeur d'Alene room from 11 am - 1 pm.
Party at the SWRC
- 4 pm to 6 pm
- Party at the SWRC!!! Come the Student Wellness Recreation Center for a fun day of activities. FREE climbing well, orb ball soccer† and much more. This event will run from 4 pm to 6 pm. We hope to see you all there!
After Party at the SWRC
- 6 pm to 8 pm
- What's better than a party? An AFTER PARTY!!! The party continues at the Student Wellness and Recreation Center. Come play spikeball, cornhole, ping pong, and more. After party will run from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Friday, August 23
Cardinal Beach Day
- 10 am to 3 pm
- Wrap up the end of your first week by spending the day at the beach with the Outdoor Pursuits team. FREE 1hr rentals for all students† from 10 am to 3 pm. Don't forget your sunscreen!
Cardinal Cruise†
- 6:30 pm to 9 pm
- Come join us for a FREE Student Cruise on Lake Coeur d'Alene. Boarding will begin at 6:30 pm right here on campus at Yap-Keehn-Um Beach (Sunspot). The boat will depart at 7 pm and will return at 9pm. DJ music will be provided as we celebrate the beginning of a new school year. Student ID is required.
