Welcome to our new and returning Cardinals!

Week of Welcome (WoW) is all about you. Each year we offer a week of free events to celebrate the start of the new academic year! Come and join in on the fun, meet new people and start your future. Event locations can be found on our Campus Map.

Monday, Aug. 24

Cardinal Convocation

  • All Day

NIC Student Government Meet and Greet with Free Snow Cones

  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Outside Student Union Building (SUB) Main Entrance

Tuesday, Aug. 25

Paws and Relax: Wags for Wellness Therapy Dogs

  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • SUB Plaza (inside)

Party at the SWRC**

  • 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Spikeball, Cornhole, Pickleball, Ping Pong and More
  • Student Wellness and Recreation Center (SWRC)

Wednesday, Aug. 26

Day of Welcome Resource Fair

  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Free lunch provided (NIC students only).
  • SUB Dining Room

Glow Tag**

  • 8:45 p.m.
  • Experience multiple glow-in-the-dark tag and hide-and-seek games. Glow sticks provided.

Thursday, Aug. 27

Self-Defense Situational Awareness and Training

  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • SUB, Second Floor, Blue Creek Bay (Room 204)

Cardinal Cruise**

  • 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • NIC Student Cruise with DJ and dancing. Boarding starts at 6:30 pm, departs at 7 p.m. — first come first serve (limited space available).
  • NIC’s Sunspot / Yap-Keehn-Um Beach

Friday, Aug. 28

Cardinal Beach Day

  • 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Free Stand-up paddleboards, Kayaks, and Canoes rentals for NIC students (one-hour duration).**
  • NIC’s Sunspot / Yap-Keehn-Um Beach

NIC Women’s Volleyball

  • Noon / 6 p.m.
  • Christianson Gym

Saturday, Aug. 29

NIC Color Fun Run

  • 1 p.m.
  • Check in starts at 10 a.m. Receive T-shirt, sunglasses and bandana. Eligible participants will be entered into drawing to win NIC scholarships.
  • NIC’s Cd’A Campus (Soccer Field)

NIC Women’s Volleyball

  • 1 p.m. / 4 p.m.

Parker Center Day of Welcome Resource Fair

  • 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Free lunch provided (NIC students only).
