Veterans Residency
Title 38 United States Code 3679(c)
Title 38 U.S.C. 3679(c) requires the Veteran’s Administration to disapprove programs of education for payment of benefits under the Post-9/11 GI Bill® and Montgomery GI Bill®-Active Duty at public institutions of higher learning if the school charges qualifying Veterans and dependents tuition and fees in excess of the rate for resident students for terms beginning after July 1, 2015.
In support of student veterans and in order for NIC’s currently eligible programs to remain approved for the VA’s GI Bill® programs, NIC will charge in-state tuition and fee amounts to “covered individuals” as defined in 38 U.S.C. 3679(c), effective Fall Semester 2015.
For more information about 38 U.S.C. 3679(c) and in-state residency, please contact the North Idaho College Veterans Coordinator at (208) 769-3281.
