My name is Nick Caron, and I am excited to join the North Idaho College team as a Counseling Specialist! As a North Idaho native, I grew up in Wallace before making Coeur d'Alene my home as an adult.

I am passionate about helping individuals recognize their potential for growth, challenge unhelpful patterns, and develop practical solutions that support success in both life and overall well-being. I have experience working with teenagers, adults of all ages, veterans, and individuals with developmental disabilities.

My areas of focus include life transitions, relationship concerns, anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, and difficulties with focus and attention. I strive to create a supportive, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes.

I take a person-centered approach to counseling and believe that clients are the experts on their own lives. My role is to collaborate with them as they navigate challenges, build on their strengths, and work toward their goals. My counseling style is eclectic and incorporates elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and my dog, Moose Willis. In my free time, you'll often find me hiking or backpacking in the beautiful North Idaho outdoors and surrounding areas, golfing, or exploring new restaurants around the community.
