Marie Macher is a higher education professional specializing in disability access, inclusive design, and student success. She came to this field after navigating higher education as a student with a disability herself, an experience that continues to shape her commitment to equity and access. With extensive experience in academic accommodations and faculty training, she is passionate about creating learning environments where all students can thrive. You may see her around campus with her service dog, Hero, a black lab.
Marie’s work centers on Universal Design, self-advocacy, and innovative programming that supports students both inside and outside the classroom. She has worked at colleges and universities in Florida, Indiana, and now at North Idaho College (NIC). Marie holds a BSN in Nursing, a BA in Sociology, an MS in Victim Services Management, and an MS in Disability Services in Higher Education, and she is currently completing her MS in Instructional Design and Technology.
