The Fall 2023 Cardinal Convocation is a required part of the FYE Seminar course. Students who have registered for a seminar course will attend convocation, which will be held Tuesday, Aug. 22.
This is a reminder that classes meeting before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 22 will not be in session (with the exception of CTE and Health Professions Courses). This is to accommodate students attending Cardinal Convocation as part of their First Year Experience Seminar.
As you begin convocation, you will be welcomed by faculty and staff and directed to check-in. We will have additional faculty begin convocation and staff welcoming and guiding you to your first session, which will be with your seminar course professor and classmates.
At the convocation welcome address, faculty & staff will welcome you as you start this new chapter in your life. Just as commencement marks the completion of a degree, convocation marks the beginning of your academic journey.
After the convocation welcome address, faculty and staff will greet and guide you as you transition between breakout sessions, meet again with your seminar course and finish the day having lunch and getting to know new students and faculty members.
