Applicant Resources

Application

  • Tailor your resume to the specific position you are applying for.
  • Quantify your accomplishments - numbers speak volumes! Include specific achievements and quantify them whenever possible. For example, “Increased sales by 20%” or “Managed a team of 10.”
  • Follow all application instructions carefully. Missing a step could disqualify you from consideration.
  • Upload your resume and allow our system to auto-fill some application fields. Please note that the document format can impact how the fields import. You may still have to complete or correct some fields.
  • Include a detailed employment history relevant to the position on your application as this is helpful for salary placement. Don’t forget to indicate the month/year of employment and whether roles were full or part time!
  • Ensure that your email address and phone number are accurate as we communicate frequently by email and phone.
  • Notify your professional references in advance so they’re prepared to speak to your qualifications and work ethic. References are generally requested after interviews.

Interview

  • Don’t wing it—prepare thoroughly. Practice answers to common and behavior-based questions, with specific examples ready to share.
  • Review the job posting and requirements for the position before your interview.
  • Practice discussing your knowledge, skills, and abilities, and how they apply to the role. Use examples from your experience to highlight your strengths.
  • Double-check your interview details—Zoom link, address, and any other relevant information ahead of time so you are prepared on the day of the interview.
  • Arrive early. Plan for traffic, parking, or unfamiliar routes to avoid last-minute stress. Ask where the nearest or best place to park would be.
  • Listen carefully to questions and consider what is truly being asked. Provide clear, relevant examples that address the search committee’s needs.
  • Ask your search committee questions. This shows you have a vested interest in the college and have thought about being successful in the role.
  • Send a thank you email to the search committee members after the interview if you have their information.
