Funding for High School Students

Advanced Opportunities at NIC Workforce Training Center

The Advanced Opportunities program provides every student attending an Idaho public school $4,625 to use toward eligible expenses in grades 7-12 to explore, advance and gain experience. The funds can be used for a variety of opportunities, including to pay for regionally approved Workforce Training courses. The approved NIC Workforce Training Courses are listed below.

Idaho High School students interested in using Advanced Opportunities funds should discuss this with their high school counselors.

Parents and students can find more information about Advanced Opportunities funding for workforce training, dual credit, and more on the Idaho Department of Education’s Advanced Opportunities webpages.

High school students may be eligible for other sources of funding to help pay for NIC Workforce Training Center courses. You’ll find links to some of these sources in the menu on the right side of this page.

You may also call the NIC Workforce Training Center at (208) 769-3214 for information about or assistance in using Advanced Opportunities funds for programs at the center.
