Cardinal Card

The Cardinal Card is the official form of photo ID for students, staff and faculty. Cardinal Cards are obtained at Cardinal Central in Lee-Kildow Hall Room 116.

To get a Cardinal Card, you must be a current student, staff or faculty member. Bring a form of government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.), take a picture and your card will be printed for you.

Your first Cardinal Card is free of charge. Lost, stolen or damaged Cardinal Cards will result in a $20 replacement fee.

All students and employees must have a Cardinal Card for identification purposes. The Cardinal Card must be presented to access a student’s account and financial aid; to charge books and school supplies against a student's financial aid; to check out library books or use computer labs and printing services; and to access the Student Wellness and Recreation Center or rent equipment through Outdoor Pursuits. The Cardinal Card can also be used for free/discounted admission to campus events and to get discounts from local businesses participating in the Students Shop Local Program.

Cardinal Cash can be added to your card for dining, printing and bookstore purchases. It is a prepaid declining balance that can be added online using One Web or by visiting Cardinal Central. Other people can also add funds to your card using the One Web Authorized User Log On.

The Cardinal Card should be kept with you throughout your time at NIC. The Cardinal Card is the property of NIC and the use of this card is governed by college rules and regulations. The card is not transferable and must be presented to college officials upon request. The Cardinal Card is to be used only by the person to whom it is issued and will be confiscated if presented by someone other than the cardholder. Do not loan your card to any person for any reason. Use of someone else’s card, even if they gave you permission, is considered misuse and the card will be confiscated.
