Be the welcoming face of NIC! Your duties will include checking in students and community members, logging and tracking in-person assists, handling mail pick-up and disbursement, following up on returned mail, and keeping our lobby and desk areas sanitized. You'll also take on various exciting projects as assigned.
Join our dynamic Admissions team! You'll assist with a variety of projects, process outgoing and incoming mail, perform data entry, scan documents, answer phones, and participate in calling campaigns. Your role will be vital in helping prospective students navigate their journey to NIC.
Play a key role in the Registrar's office! Help with important projects like graduation and orientation, perform data entry, and scan documents. Your attention to detail will ensure smooth operations and support student success.
Provide top-notch customer service in the Financial Aid office! Assist students by answering general questions via phone and email, participate in leadership development activities, and support campus events throughout the year. You'll also create and maintain spreadsheets and scan documents, all while making a positive impact on students' financial journeys.
Be the first point of contact for students, families, faculty, and staff in Advising Services! Answer high call volumes, schedule appointments, and provide direction to appropriate services and departments. You'll also handle data entry, maintain spreadsheets, and offer additional clerical and project support to Career Services as needed.
Get involved with NIC Athletics! Support our teams and events, and help promote school spirit. Specific duties will be tailored to your interests and the needs of the department.
Bring Cecil Cardinal to life! Engage with students, staff, and the community at various events, spreading school spirit and excitement. This role is perfect for someone energetic and enthusiastic about representing NIC.
Join our Recruitment team and be a welcoming face for incoming students! Lead individual and group campus tours, support campus events, call prospective students, and perform data entry. Your efforts will help attract and welcome new students to NIC.

Grant Participation and Funding Overview
The amount of a successful applicant’s grant is based on the number of credits they are enrolled in at the start of each semester (see examples below):
- 12+ credits for a “full-time” position = $1,698 per semester.
- The grant amount for an ambassador enrolled in less than 12 credits and/or in a position that is less than “full-time” will be based on a combination of credits and position requirements.
- Grants are awarded twice per semester with 50% applied at the start of the semester and 50% applied after mid-term review (grade check and meeting position requirements).
- Unfortunately, students receiving tuition and fee funding from a third-party agency are ineligible for a Cardinal Grant. Examples include but are not limited to: Vocational Rehab, NIC Athletic Scholarships, Veteran’s/GI programs, and Dual Credit students.
- You must be a degree-seeking student currently attending NIC.
- You need to have a minimum 2.5 GPA and be in good academic standing, meeting the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards.
- Submit a completed application, an eligibility verification form, and a reference letter. All application materials are due by April 15th for priority consideration for the next academic year. Applications will be kept on file through March of the following year and will be considered if a position opens up during the academic year.
- You must have the capacity to commit approximately 110 hours per semester, approximately 7.5 hours per week (fall and spring) for “full-time” positions.
- You must be eligible to receive a Cardinal Grant (see information under Cardinal Grant Details below.
- Maintain part-time (6 or more credits) or full-time student status (12 or more credits) enrollment as required by position.
- Funding is based on the number of credits and/or program needs “full-time” verses “part-time”.
- Remain in good academic standing with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and meet SAP standards.
- For “full-time” positions, complete approximately 220 (110 per semester) total office hours and/or attend and complete assigned tasks and activities.
- Maintain professional standards while representing North Idaho College.
Steps to Apply
ALL THREE FORMS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE PROGRAM. Deadline for the upcoming academic year (Fall and spring semesters) is April 15th.
- Complete and Submit the Cardinal Ambassador Program Eligibility Verification Form.
- Complete and submit the Cardinal Ambassador Program application.
- Forward the Cardinal Ambassador Program Reference Form to someone who has worked with you on a professional level, as part of a group project or in a volunteer agency within the past year that can speak to your work ethic, skills and educational aspirations. Ideally your reference should be NIC faculty or staff, current or former employer, club advisor, church group leader, high school teacher, etc. The form should be completed and returned within 5 working days for best consideration.
