The media is invited to come celebrate with North Idaho College the Ribbon-cutting Ceremony for the Bob and Leona DeArmond College and University Center from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, on the corner of Hubbard Avenue and River Avenue.
Representatives from NIC, Lewis-Clark State College and University of Idaho will speak at the event.
The $7.5 million center was constructed through the support of the Permanent Building Fund, ignite cda, NIC, LCSC, and U of I. It was designed with collaboration as a key principle. The 29,000-square-foot center contains eight instructional classrooms, a student services center, and numerous student and faculty break-out rooms and informal learning spaces.
The center is named after Bob and Leona DeArmond, who made the largest private donation in NIC’s 85-year history. It was built on the site of the former DeArmond Stud Mill. To honor the DeArmonds’ wishes, the exact amount of their gift to the college through the NIC Foundation will remain confidential.
